Katydid

I wrote Katydid a long time ago. The first version must have been written in the early aughts. I played it in three bands. First, Anchorhead, then Swing Swang Swung, then Rocket Appliances. I almost let the song go, but several people who've heard it over the years encouraged me to record it. I must have tried to record it 4-5 times including once when I almost completely re-wrote it. This version is pretty close to the original arrangement and feel.

And here's a version that's completely re-arranged. You can hear some concepts that later appear in Ms. Lynn. This was back in 2020:

In the end I elected not to rewrite the song so radically.
